11 Motivational Design Tools

Enilda Romero-Hall, Ph.D.

Customized motivational design tools or artifacts were created by graduate students in the Principles of Learner Motivation course in the Instructional Design and Technology program at the University of Tampa (Instructor: Dr. Enilda Romero-Hall). The goal of the assignment was to create a checklist, survey, or job aid that helps consider if the motivational design was integrated as part of a learning design solution. These tools (see Fig. 1) consider the many theories and frameworks: motivational design principles, theories of motivation, the community of inquiry framework, and interface design: https://padlet.com/eromerohall/MotivationalDesignTools
